IBM PC version of Type Attack
Type Attack is an educational typing game. It is a variation of Space Invaders, however instead of attacking aliens the player needs to defend from attacking letters and other characters. During the game, multiple columns of characters appear on the screen and move left to right and right to left; each time the end of the screen is reached, the characters move one row closer to the bottom of the screen. If the characters reach the bottom of the screen, the game is over. To defend, players need to type the characters; any character that is at the bottom of a column and the player types will be eliminated. If any wrong characters are typed, the player's energy is depleted. If all of the characters are typed successfully, the player continues to the next, more difficult round; if all energy is lost the game ends.

Type Attack includes numerous skill levels; depending on the level, the characters will attack at slow or fast speeds and may include different combinations of letters, numbers, and symbols. Also included is a level editor; with the editor players can create their own lessons with any combination of letters, numbers, and symbols desired.

Points in the game are earned for the number of words per minute typed and accuracy; a high score table is included to save the player's best results.
